Battery electric potential (E)

The internal resistance of the battery (R)

The terminal voltage (U) and the current (I) flowing through the load are measured after the energy storage battery is connected to the load. At this time the internal resistance (R) of the battery is (E-U)/I. The internal resistance of the battery should include the resistance of the positive and negative battery plates, the spacer (membrane), the electrolyte, and the connections. The smaller the internal resistance of the energy storage battery, the larger the capacity of the battery.

End up voltage

The critical voltage when discharging to the energy storage battery terminal voltage drops sharply. If discharged again, it will damage the battery. At this point, the battery terminal voltage is called the end voltage. Different discharge rates have different end-of-discharge voltages. In U end = 1.66 + 0.0175h, the formula h is the discharge hour rate, such as the use of 1-hour discharge rate, U end = l.66 + 0.0175 × 1 = 1.68V. For example, with a 10-hour rate of discharge, U end = 1.66 + 0.0175 × 10 = 1.835V.

Discharge rate

Under certain conditions, the energy storage battery is discharged to the end of the voltage of the speed called the discharge rate. The size of the discharge current is expressed by the time rate and current rate. Usually, take 10 hours rate as discharge current. That is, the capacity of the battery is discharged to the end voltage within l0h.

Charging rate

The size of the charging current of the energy storage battery under certain conditions is called the charging rate. The common charging rate is 10 hours rate. That is to say, the charging time needs l0h before reaching the end of charging. When shortening the charging time, the charging current must be increased, and vice versa, the charging current can be reduced.

Cycle life

The energy storage battery undergoes a charge and discharge, called a cycle. The number of cycles that the battery can withstand is called cycle life. Fixed lead-acid batteries cycle life is about 300~500 times. The cycle life of valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery is about 1000~1200 times, and the service life is generally more than 10 years.
