At the exhibition, BAK Battery highlighted its newest flagship product for the high-end professional tool market: the all-tab 2170-50D2 cell. For the first time, the cell incorporates solid-state electrolyte coating technology, enhancing safety from both material and structural perspectives. This significantly improves stability under complex operating conditions, ensuring power tools operate more reliably during high-intensity, high-frequency work cycles.
The 2170-50D2 achieves an optimal balance of high capacity and high power, delivering impressive performance metrics:
Ultra-High Energy Density: Achieves 265Wh/kg, effectively extending runtime per charge and alleviating range anxiety caused by frequent recharging.
Ultra-Low Internal Resistance: Internal resistance is ≤ 5mΩ, significantly reducing energy loss and temperature rise for sustained powerful output.
High Discharge Current: Supports a maximum discharge current of 50A, easily meeting the instantaneous power demands of high-load tools such as rotary hammers and chain saws.
Wide Operating Temperature: Functions reliably in extreme environments ranging from -20℃ to 80℃, ensuring all-weather operation in severe cold or high heat.
The new cell is widely applicable in fields such as power tools, robotics, cleaning equipment, and drones, with mass production scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
In addition to the 2170-50D2, BAK Battery showcased its upgraded all-tab product lineup, including the 18650-30D, 2170-40D, and 2170-45D. These models achieve multiple optimizations in fast-charging capability, power output, and safety without altering standard dimensions.
BAK has now established a comprehensive all-tab cylindrical cell product matrix covering the 18-series, 21-series, and 46-series, demonstrating increasing technological maturity. Leveraging its advantages in high power, high safety, and long cycle life, BAK is extending its all-tab technology into broader application scenarios, including eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft), BBU (backup battery units) for data centers, and robotics – unlocking new growth opportunities for the company’s future development.
“Professional tool applications often involve harsher conditions, placing extremely high demands on battery performance, lifespan, and reliability,” said a Vice President of BAK Battery at the event. “The launch of the all-tab 2170-50D2 perfectly embodies our core philosophy of ‘Empowering Every Professional Tool.’ Through continuous innovation in materials and electrochemistry, we ensure that every tool powered by BAK Battery becomes the most trusted partner for users.”
From addressing every user pain point to empowering every professional tool, BAK Battery’s pursuit of ultimate performance never stops. Looking ahead, BAK remains committed to product innovation and quality enhancement, bringing more reliable and efficient energy solutions into an ever-wider range of application scenarios.
