Recently, the 2026 (2nd) Start-Point Lithium Battery Cylindrical Battery Technology Forum and Cylindrical Battery Top 20 Rankings Release Conference, hosted by Start-Point Lithium Battery, was grandly held in Shenzhen. The conference officially released the 2026 China Cylindrical Battery Industry White Paper Report. According to the report, the cylindrical battery market experienced robust growth in 2025, with global shipments reaching 285 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 29.5%. China‘s cylindrical battery shipments reached 137.6 GWh in 2025, up 32.1% year-on-year, accounting for nearly 50% of the global market share.
During the event, the conference also unveiled the cylindrical battery industry shipment rankings. Leveraging its technological expertise and strong market performance in the cylindrical battery sector, BAK Batteries secured positions on three prestigious rankings:
Ranked 7th in the “2025 China Cylindrical Battery Total Shipment Ranking (by GWh)” and 5th in the ranking by unit count. Notably, in the small cylindrical battery segment (18/21/26 series) — a traditional area of strength — BAK ranked 5th by GWh shipments, maintaining its leading position.
Ranked 9th in the “2025 China 46-Series Cylindrical Cell Shipment TOP10 Ranking (by Unit Count),” with its 4680 all-tab battery already designated for cutting-edge applications including eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft), energy storage systems, and high-end battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
As a long-standing player in China‘s cylindrical battery industry with over two decades of expertise in lithium battery R&D and manufacturing, BAK is a pioneer of all-tab technology in China. The company has taken the lead in developing an all-tab cylindrical battery matrix covering mainstream sizes of 18, 21, and 46 series, achieving industry-leading performance in key metrics such as energy density, charge/discharge power, and cycle life.On the technology front, BAK is among the representative enterprises that have simultaneously deployed all-tab/multi-tab small cylindrical technologies for both 18-series and 21-series batteries, establishing a multi-dimensional product portfolio that “consolidates the foundation with small cylindrical batteries while exploring new growth opportunities with large cylindrical batteries.”
This recognition across three rankings underscores BAK Batteries’ robust large-scale production and market delivery capabilities. Looking ahead, BAK will continue to deepen its R&D and application of all-tab technology, delivering superior product solutions to support the global energy transition and green, low-carbon development.
