The positive outcomes of the China-U.S. economic and trade consultations have temporarily eased trade tensions in key areas such as lithium batteries. On October 30, China’s Ministry of Commerce stated that in view of the U.S. decision to suspend the “50% rule” on export controls announced on September 29 for one year, China has decided to suspend the export control measures on lithium batteries and related materials announced on October 9 for one year and will study and refine specific plans. This decision came after the economic and trade consultations between China and the United States held on October 25-26. It has eliminated uncertainties for the global lithium battery industry chain.
